IT TAKES A BOOMER

Actually, it takes a bunch of Boomers.

We wanted to create an authentic Baby Boom experience, a parade of memories that touched our lives, not just a list of events, dates and facts. So, that meant we really had to keep our Boomer antennae tilted just the right direction.

If you weren’t a Boomer how could you remember the sound a baseball card made when it was clipped to your Schwinn bike? Or just how taut Chatty Cathy’s pull-string really was.

These are the folks who made this happen. If you love the game… they get the credit. (If you don’t… you’re a millennial.*)

Brian – Head Boomer

He’s the guy who ideated the Boom Again Game and assembled and led the team to launch.

Brian Hersch is has been creating game hits and global brands for over 30 years. He invented Taboo, and Outburst, and Malarkey, and Super Scattergories, and over 40 other games that have been published with game industry leaders like Hasbro and Mattel. His games have sold over 50 million copies – so fair to say Brian knows how to create an entertaining game that people want to play AGAIN.

Brian’s Boomer credentials stretch back to two appearances on Kids Say the Darndest Things. Fifty years later, in a chance airport chat, Art Linkletter assured him that a second appearance only happened if a kid was a smart ass the first time!

Check out these blogs he wrote for this site, where he talks about the ideas and choices that were made along the way, and about how to enjoy the game considering social distancing.

Mary Jo – Product Development

Mary Jo is an award-winning game inventor and product developer. She added her creative touches to many of the design elements of Boom Again. Her eye for detail along with her creative spirit brought fun content to the game.

As more of an “Honorary Boomer,” she also served as the voice for later-Boomers, the ones growing up in the ‘70s.

Mitchell – “The Suit”

Don’t be fooled… Howdy Doody here will cut your heart out. Not really, but as the seasoned business exec he is the guy who makes the Boom Again train run on time.

Mitch is at the intersection of art & commerce. He may not be one of the creatives, but that team goes nowhere unless Mitchell keeps a firm grip on the reins.

* Obviously we had a couple non-Boomer team members.
(We needed their tech savvy)
