Used to be, when you wanted to hang with friends, you just went looking for the house in the neighborhood with a big pile of bikes scattered in front of it. Or you’d stand in front of your pal’s house and singsong holler their name through the closed door.

Getting the gang together for some good old-fashioned fun isn’t so easy these days. With everything going on in the world, you might even think it’s unimportant.
There’s perhaps never been a more important time to connect and share good times and good memories. Sure, probably not all together in the same room — but social distancing doesn’t have to mean isolation. Or as we might have said it back in the day, it doesn’t have to be a total bummer.
We simply set out to create a pop-culture trivia game where a group of Baby Boomers could share our common experiences growing up. A game that reminds us of our commonality instead of our differences. The kind of game where if you watched TV, were into music or just hung out in the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, you’d be as big an “expert” as that guy who spent his days reading the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Turns out, we also created a trivia board game that can be played out in a number of safe scenarios during this pandemic.

You can play with other Boomers in your “bubble.” Or get together with a few friends staying a safe distance apart — the board design allows for one player to move the game tokens for limited contact. We’ve also developed a way to play using Zoom we call it a “Boom Zoom.” You can get the tips on how it works right here.
Avoiding “pandemic brain fog.”
Truth is, you don’t have to know the answers to the game’s trivia questions. Even just trying to remember the 7th word in the Chiquita banana jingle gets those neurons sparking.
You might not agree politically with your friends, but there’s a lot of life experiences you share simply because you lived them.
There’s no “I” in Team but there is one in Isolation.
Boom Again is played in teams. You’ll get into the spirit of team cooperation, which is more fun than, say, playing Solitaire on your mobile device.

It’s normal to worry a bit more these days, but it’s also okay to laugh. There’s truth to the old saying about it being the best medicine.
Bobby Vinton may have been fine being Mr. Lonely. We’ll instead channel the Beatles and sing out loud that it’s time to come together, right now, socially (and distanced if need be).
Is it time to play with your friends again? You bet your bippy it is.
